Discipleship Training School
The Discipleship Training School (DTS) is an intense program designed to develop Christian character and to prepare you for missions, but it is also beneficial in preparation for other types of ministry.
The school consists of:
- 3 month lecture phase
- 2 months of practical missionary service (called outreach)
(Completion of a DTS is a prerequisite for working with YWAM on a long-term basis.)
DTS: Knowing God and making Him known
Classroom Phase (12 weeks)
Classroom topics include:
- Nature and Character of God
- Nature and Character of Man
- Worldviews and Biblical Perspectives
- Methods of Evangelism
- Relationships
- Study and Application of the Word of God
- Intercession and Spriritual Warfare
- Hearing God's voice
Throughout the classroom phase, we will also have:
- Times of Praise and Worship
- Intercession Groups
- Practical Reading
- Small Group discussions
- Journaling
Outreach Phase (2 months)
The outreach phase is designed to give practical experience in areas, such as:
- Open air evangelism
- Door-to-door visitation
- Evangelism through Creative Arts
- Church presentations
- Relief work / practical help
