Thank you for visiting Youth with a Mission Nicaragua's website. YWAM Nicaragua is part of an international, interdenominational Christian mission reaching to the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ through Evangelism, Training and Mercy Ministries. In Latin America, we are known as Juventud con una Misión.
We are a ministry of YWAM International which was founded in 1960 and now has approximately 20,000 full-time staff in more than 1,200 centers in nations worldwide. We have been operating in the Managua area since December 1989. Our mission trains Nicaraguan youth to disciple and develop their own nation in Biblical principles and to be a blessing to other nations.
We would like to introduce you to Mi Pequeña Luz, our Primary School and one of the ministries to the barrio. The school provides an opportunity for underprivileged children to learn and to know the Lord.
Our Discipleship Training School (DTS) is an intense program designed to develop Christian character and to prepare you for missions, but it is also beneficial in preparation for all types of ministry. Our next DTS starts January 21, 2009. Enrollment is currently open.
Maestros Para las Naciones (MPN) is a training course designed to give tools for Biblical reasoning, and influencing each area of society. It is especially designed for teachers who have the vision of raising up those who will guide their nation towards true liberty. (Begins September 8 - offered only in Spanish).
The School of the Bible is a condensed Bible school.. (more)
Evangelism takes on several forms at YWAM Nicaragua. It includes outreaches coordinated by our training programs, Bible distribution, regular children’s ministry, and hosting and assisting church groups and teams in short-term missions trips.
We are located in a very poor neighborhood, named Berlin. Our location provides daily opportunities to proclaim the gospel via practical means. We regularly visit families and provide counseling, and occasionally help in medical crises and in starting small businesses.
King's Kids is a weekend discipleship program for youth from various parts of Nicaragua. It also provides an opportunity for the youth to minister through choreography, drama, community service and personal evangelism.
