We are working in a very poor barrio called Barrio Berlin. Yes, this barrio was named after the famous German city that sent development workers to Nicaragua in 1972, after the devastating earthquake. After the long Civil war of the late 1970's and 80's here in Nicaragua, the barrio along with the nation has scarcely recovered economically. The barrio has grown with squatters and the poorest of the poor who are seeking a place to live and raise their families.
We are presently operating a primary school for underpriviledged children in the area.
